Welcome to THE CIRCLE

THE CIRCLE is a new online community for both professional and amateur photographers shooting on either film or digital, ideally both!

The Circle exists to inspire all photographers by displaying the very best of members' work, and to allow them to network and share knowledge and resources.

We're a friendly bunch, BUT we'll only let you display your work on this site if you can show you've got real photographic skill and talent, and a passion for photography. That's one of the reasons that all photos you upload are subject to approval. If you don't get images approved, don't take it personally, just submit some better ones!

Of course, beginners to photography are welcome too, you just might find that you have to work a little harder to get work accepted for display!

THE CIRCLE - WHY YOU NEED TO JOIN

The first rule of The Circle is that you need to join now. Scrub that, the first rule of The Circle is that your work needs to be good, and you need to join now. And then tell all your friends. And if you need to know any more, read the About The Circle Page.

We don't want to build just another photo sharing website full of poor quality images, we want to look at beautiful photography, be inspired and then get flattered for our own photographic genius. Or have we missed something??

Go ahead, join, share, debate, and enjoy. It's free to join and upload up to 5 images to your own personal portfolio page.

Simon Jones replied to Simon Jones's discussion Olympus Addiction
"Hello all, I have been away from the group but I am still feeding my Olympus addiction. I went away from photography for a while but now I am back. The bodies are all clean the fridge is stacked with film and I have had a good start to the year.…"

Mark Andreani replied to Steven Simon's discussion Anyone still using their OM's other than a paperweight?
"Actually yes, me! THough nowadays I am down to just the 2 OM-2n bodies, with 35mm f/2.8, 50mm f/1.4 and 85mm f/2 lenses. I actually bring along one of them to most of the Beginners' DSLR workshops I run in London - people are fascinated to…"

Mark Andreani replied to Mark Andreani's discussion How much resolution do you really need?
"Simon - thanks for the reply. Medium Format for me is only a rare excursion when my (mostly low rent!) clients need to do poster campaigns. The last few years have seen many jobs that would have been shot on MF Digital turn out as a DSLR shoot, as…"

Steven Simon replied to Mark Andreani's discussion How much resolution do you really need?
"My personal view is that if you are a full time Pro working in fashion, commercial or advertising, where your work would be used at very large sizes, then the more the better. Most top Pros are using Hasselblad H digital or Mamiya digital medium format…"
